in the hood

This might be my favorite accessory for the year! It’s an individual hood that snaps at the neck, so you can wear it with anything without having to wear a hoodie. It looks great with just a plain tee! The prints range from African to Latin inspired fabrics and they are all lined with colorful linings. The creators are Jasko Begovic and Jeremiah Nadya from Official Tourist, a band that came together in 2003 and now they have created an empire with music, art and clothing to their name. Fans like M.I.A, Q-tip and Santogold rock them and support them!

King Size Mafia…

Last Thursday was the launch of King Size Mafia, who will be throwing exclusive parties in Charlotte. From what I can remember it was a great time! I learned not to mix champagne with liquor!  Look out for their upcoming parties at kingsizemafia.com

jeans + polka dots…

The spring 08 collection of Pegleg for men has been released and it consists of polka dot jeans, colorful tribal print hats and graphic tees.  The cool thing is that they sell all their stuff online which adds to the appeal, since you can’t find this brand in Charlotte or anything similar to it. Definitely worth checking it out!

Fafi for M.A.C

The adorable vixens that French graffiti artist Fafi creates have a lot in common with the MAC girl — hip, urban and sexy. Which is why the Fafi and MAC Cosmetics collaboration makes perfect sense! This line is packed with gorgeous, eye popping colors as well as t-shirts, a makeup bag, a scarf and collectable figurines! The playfulness of Fafi’s designs are represented perfectly by the line, wearing the products make you feel like one of the colorful characters yourself!

While the entire line is beautiful, the “Totally It” lipglass is my favorite. Catch it while you can at Belk and Nordstrom and of course, online at maccosmetics.com. You can also check out macfafi.com for the wonderful world of MAC and Fafi.

I want to live in Mag world!

I came across Mag Nation and I have decided I’m officially obsessed! You can find fashion, art and culture magazines from around the world. You can even subscribe to some right from the site. There’s also a magdentifier which asks you some random questions to help you find the right magazine. It’s a great interactive site. You can also make your own coffee table with tons of mags and send it over to friends to see. It’s genius! I only which that they had a store in the states especially in Charlotte. One day Blü will be there!!

Bright things…

Insight autumn 2008 collection has just been released and let’s just say it’s worth getting. Lots of bright fluorescent colors along with patterned geometrical prints. We absolutely love this at Blü!
